Bechara Atiyeh

Prof. Bishara Atiyeh is Clinical Professor of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the American University of Beirut Medical Center – AUBMC. He graduated from the medical school at AUB then completed his plastic surgery training at Mc Gill University in Montreal, Canada, followed by a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, NY. Prof Atiyeh is President of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of Lebanese Descent – APSLD, Lebanese Society of reconstructive Microsurgery – LSRM, and the Euro-Mediterranean Council of Burns and Fire Disasters – MBC. He is Past-President of the Lebanese Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery – LSPRAS and the Pan Arab Association of Burns and Plastic Surgery – PABPS. Prof Atiyeh is “Professor of Honor” of the Romanian Plastic Surgery Society, Honorary Life Member of the South African Burn Society, and Honorary Member of Excellence in Aesthetic Surgery Club, Bucharest, Romania. He was awarded the Merit Award of the International Surgery of International Association for Humanitarian Medicine – IAHM. He is Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Burns and Fire Disasters and member of editorial board and reviewer of several scientific publications as well as board member of several organizations and associations. Prof. Atiyeh has organized and co-organized numerous, local, regional and international meetings, congresses, and instructional courses and has been invited as a guest speaker to numerous scientific meetings. He is author of 2 books and more than 325 scientific publications and book chapters.
