On December 17, 2024, we proudly marked the 6th anniversary of the founding of the Kosova College of Surgeons, a testament to our shared and extraordinary dedication and achievements in advancing surgery in Kosova and beyond.
The ceremony took place at the Amphitheater of the new Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Prishtina, bringing together distinguished personalities from medicine and science from the country and the region.
The Founding President of the Kosova College of Surgeons, Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi, presented the accomplishments of the Kosova College of Surgeons over the past six years and the main plans for the future.
Additionally, we were honored by the presence and remarks of:
- Dr. Arsim Berisha, Deputy Minister of Health, Republic of Kosova
- Prof. Dr. Sefedin Muçaj, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Prishtina
- Dr. Izet Sadiku, Director of the Health Directorate, Municipality of Prishtina
- Dr. Naser Gjonbalaj, Vice President of the Kosova Medical Chamber
- Prof. Dr. Arben Beqiri, Vice President of the Kosova College of Surgeons for Albania
- Prof. Dr. Ilir Hasani, Vice President of the Kosova College of Surgeons for North Macedonia
- Prof. Dr. Mentor Ahmeti, Vice President of the Kosova College of Surgeons for the USA
This is the first time we have solemnly celebrated the founding day of the Kosova College of Surgeons, and we are deeply grateful to all participants and collaborators who contributed to giving this day the importance it so rightfully deserves.
