Mission:

This committee aims to improve the quality of geriatric surgical care by creating a system that allows for a possible match between the individual surgical needs of each elderly person and a care environment that has optimal resources for patients undergoing surgery.

The committee will work to build some standards that will systematically improve surgical care for the elderly. These standards include:

-Improving communication with patients before surgical procedures to focus on outcomes that are most relevant to the patient;

-Screening for geriatric vulnerabilities;

-Better medication management;

-Providing the most suitable rooms for geriatric patients;

-Providing the right staff.
