Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cafer Tanrıverdi is a specialist in eye diseases (ophthalmologist), born on May 28, 1981, in Erzincan. He is proficient in English and has extensive experience in ophthalmology, having been active as a physician for over 15 years. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine, 19 Mayıs University in Samsun, during 1998–2004, and pursued his specialization in ophthalmology at the Ankara Education and Research Hospital between 2005–2009. After completing his specialization, he practiced as a specialist physician at several institutions: Dr. Nafiz Körez State Hospital, Ankara Sincan (2009–2010), Atatürk State Hospital, Düzce (2010–2012), and Hayri Sivrikaya Private Hospital, Düzce (2012–2013).
From 2013 to 2021, he served as a physician and lecturer at Medipol University in Istanbul, and from 2021 to 2024, he held the title of Associate Professor at the same university. Currently, since 2024, he practices as an Associate Professor at Dünyagöz Etiler Private Hospital.
His main areas of expertise include general eye examinations, refractive surgery (laser treatments), intraocular lens surgery (trifocal – smart lenses), cataract treatment, presbyopia, keratoconus, and corneal diseases. Throughout his career, he has performed over 20,000 surgical procedures and has more than 50 national and international scientific publications.
Dr. Tanrıverdi is a member of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association, the Association of Ophthalmology of the Turkic Republics, and the Turkish Medical Association. For his research work, he has received significant recognition, including the Best Oral Presentation Award in 2019 from the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in the USA.
He has published over 50 scientific papers in indexed journals and conference proceedings, including articles in journals such as Van Medical Journal, Ankara Education and Research Hospital Journal, Bakırköy Medical Journal, Turkish Journal of Ophthalmology, Current Eye Research, European Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye & Contact Lens, Acta Medica Alanya, Journal Français d’Ophtalmologie, Clinical and Experimental Optometry, and others. Additionally, he has made numerous presentations at national and international ophthalmology congresses, presenting research papers and posters in the fields of refractive surgery, cataract, keratoconus, presbyopia, corneal diseases, retina, and glaucoma.
