Dr. Korhan Özkan, MD, is a distinguished professor of orthopaedics and traumatology with a notable career in both clinical practice and academic research. Born on May 5, 1976, in Üsküdar, Istanbul, he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Marmara University in 2000 and later specialized in orthopaedics and traumatology at Istanbul University. He holds a Professorship at Istanbul Medeniyet University, where he has served as the Head of the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Department at Göztepe Education and Research Hospital.
Dr. Özkan is recognized for his expertise in managing primary bone and soft tissue sarcomas, metastatic bone lesions, and complex hip and knee revision arthroplasty. His professional journey includes multiple prestigious international observerships at renowned orthopaedic oncology centers in Austria, Germany, the UK, and Vienna.
He has contributed extensively to scientific literature, authoring over 50 international publications in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at numerous national and international conferences. His research has notably focused on innovative treatments in orthopaedic oncology, bone tumors, and the development of surgical techniques in osteosarcoma care.
Dr. Özkan is a fellow of the Turkish Orthopaedics and Traumatology Association (TOTBID) and serves on the board of the Turkish Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors Branch.
