Dr. Nedim Kasami was born in Gostivar, North Macedonia, in 1969. He successfully completed his studies at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Zagreb in 1996 under the guidance of Professor Ivica Anic.
From 2005 to this day, Dr. Kasami has been working at the University Clinic for Maxillofacial Surgery, and in 2010, he began his specialization at the same clinic, which he completed successfully in 2014. In 2013, he completed postgraduate studies, presenting his thesis titled “Clinical and Surgical Evaluation of Congenital Neck Cysts,” earning a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences in the field of Maxillofacial Surgery.
His research interests include the study of parotid gland tumors. In 2013, he was awarded the Helen Matras Scholarship from EACMFS and conducted a research period at the Hans Pichler Clinic for Maxillofacial Surgery at the General Hospital in Vienna. He has published scientific papers in international journals, such as “Acta Stomatologica Croatica,” and has participated in international symposiums and congresses, presenting original work in the field of maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Kasami has also had the opportunity to undertake a research period in the Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery at the “Sisters of Mercy” Clinical Center in Zagreb, Croatia. He served as the President of the Albanian Dental Society in the Republic of North Macedonia from 2014 to 2017. In 2016, he chaired the Second International Congress in Struga, North Macedonia, titled “Managing Challenges in Dentistry.”
Furthermore, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Pleomorphic Adenoma of the Parotid Gland: Assessment of Risk Factors for Recurrence and Facial Nerve Morbidity” at the same Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at the Mother Teresa Clinical Center in Skopje, North Macedonia, where he continues to work.
