Pulat Akin Sabanci

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pulat Akın Sabancı is a neurosurgeon with over 10 years of experience providing high-quality care for patients with neurosurgical conditions. He is recognized for his expertise in functional neurosurgery, brain tumor surgery, and spinal surgery. Since 2017, he has held the title of Associate Professor in Neurosurgery and is board-certified in Neurosurgery in Turkey.

He currently practices at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery (since 2013), and at Acıbadem Taksim Hospital in Istanbul (since 2022). Previously, he worked as a neurosurgeon at Girne Military Hospital in Cyprus (2010–2011) and at Karabük State Hospital (2011–2013).

His clinical expertise covers a wide range of procedures, including brain and skull base tumor surgery, endoscopic pituitary adenoma surgery, functional neurosurgical operations (such as DBS for Parkinson’s disease and tremor, pallidotomy, thalamotomy), spinal surgeries (lumbar and cervical discectomy, spinal stenosis, spinal tumors), normal pressure hydrocephalus, and vascular malformations (aneurysms, AVMs).

Dr. Sabancı completed his neurosurgery residency at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (2004–2010), after earning his medical degree at Hacettepe University in Ankara (1997–2003). He received the Turkish Neurosurgical Society Young Neurosurgeon Incentive Award in 2012 and the Prof. Gökalp Neurooncology Surgery Award in 2014.

He has authored 76 scientific publications, with an H-index of 15 and more than 600 citations (excluding self-citations).
