Safa Gürsoy, MD, PhD

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Safa Gursoy, MD, PhD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in traumatology and sports medicine. He currently serves as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Acıbadem Atasehir Hospital in Istanbul and as an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedics at Acıbadem University.

Dr. Gursoy completed his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University, followed by a PhD in Health Sciences (2015–2020), focusing on the musculoskeletal system and regenerative medicine. His international experience includes a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, Chicago (2020–2022), along with visiting fellowships at prestigious institutions such as Johns Hopkins University (USA), Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute (Italy), and the University of Palermo (Italy).

He has been actively involved in professional organizations, serving as President of the Turkish Resident and Young Orthopaedic Surgeons Council (2014–2016) and as a board member of the Federation of Orthopaedic Trainees in Europe (FORTE) (2014–2018). He is also a member of several scientific associations, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and the Turkish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology.

Dr. Gursoy has contributed to multiple national and international research projects on osteochondral defects and regenerative treatments. He has authored over 70 international publications in leading scientific journals, serves as a reviewer for high-impact journals, and has written book chapters published by Springer and other academic publishers.
