Remzi Gashi, M.D.

Remzi Gashi, M.D. is a German-licensed physician and board-certified visceral surgeon with extensive experience in minimally invasive and oncologic surgeries. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant and Physician in General and Visceral Surgery at Hufeland Hospital Bad Langensalza GmbH since June 2023, Dr. Gashi has been instrumental in introducing new treatment methods, particularly in minimally invasive surgery, colorectal surgery, and upper abdominal surgery. He plays a key role in organizing events and offering expert advice to residents, while also assisting senior physicians and contributing to the specialist clinic’s content and organizational growth, with a focus on robotic surgery.

Dr. Gashi’s previous experience includes serving as a Senior Consultant in the Department of General, Visceral, and Bariatric Surgery in Pristina, Kosova, since January 2023. There, he implemented novel treatment approaches, including laparoscopic surgeries like the inaugural laparoscopic distal pancreaticosplenectomy, right adrenalectomy, and D2 gastrectomy in Kosova.

From August 2018 to June 2023, Dr. Gashi was a Senior Physician and Head of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Surgery at a surgical group linked to a local teaching hospital and cancer center in Eisenach, Germany. He conducted a wide range of surgeries, provided guidance to medical students, and actively participated in initiatives for improving patient care, such as medical error prevention and quality assurance.

Dr. Gashi completed his medical degree at the University of Prishtina, followed by a fellowship in Visceral Surgery and a residency in General Surgery and Anesthesia at St. Georg Klinikum Eisenach GmbH. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Professional Association of German Surgeons, the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery, and the Kosova College of Surgeons.
