The “Leadership by Example” is an award dedicated especially to our surgeons from abroad who have contributed and are contributing to surgery in the country, as well as local surgeons who have also contributed to surgery and beyond.
The Kosova College of Surgeons has awarded the “Leadership by Example” Award for the first time, at the Opening Ceremony of the Second Clinical Congress, on September 15, 2022.
With this award were honored:
Rifat Latifi, MD, FACS, FICS, FCKS, Chair and Tenured Professor of Surgery at New York Medical College, Director of the Department of Surgery at Westchester Medical Center Health Network, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the International College of Surgeons (ICS), Founder and Chairman of the Kosova College of Surgeons and Editor-in-Chief of the Kosova Journal of Surgery, Minister of Health of the Republic of Kosova (November 16, 2021 â October 6, 2022).
The award and the work and career of Rifat Latifi, MD, FACS, FICS, FCKS were presented by Dr. Osman Zhuri.
Emir Haxhija MD, Ph.D., FEBPS., Member of the European Board of Pediatric Surgery, Associate Professor of Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery at the Medical University of Graz, Austria, Expert surgeon in specific courses in the fields of neonatal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, pediatric trauma, pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric abdominal surgery, and pediatric thoracic surgery.
The award and the work and career of Prof. Dr. Emir Haxhija were presented by Dr. Nexhmi Hyseni.
Lumnije Kqiku-Biblekaj MD, DDS, Ph.D., senior scientific researcher at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Zagreb, as well as in 2010 at the Medical University of TĂŒbingen, Germany, senior lecturer for students of General Medicine, Dentistry and postgraduate studies, Leader of the Special Clinic of Endodontics and Dental Traumatology, Vice Dean for Doctoral Studies in the Dentistry section as well as coordinator for CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies).
The award and the work and career of Lumnije Kqiku-Biblekaj MD, DDS, Ph.D., were presented by Prof. Ass. Mergime Loxha.
Avdyl Krasniqi MD. Ph.D., Doctor, surgeon, and Associate Professor. He worked as a surgeon in the Department of Abdominal Surgery, a surgeon in the Field Hospital of the Kosova Liberation Army, and a consultant surgeon in the Department of Abdominal Surgery at UCCK.
The award and the work and career of Prof. Dr. Avdyl Kransiqi were presented by Astrit Hamza, MD, Ph.D.
