The Kosova College of Surgeons signed a Memorandum of Understanding with sister organizations from Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia
On behalf of the Kosova College of Surgeons, its Founding President, Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia, while the same is expected to be signed soon with Uruguay and Brazil.
It should be noted that all the Memorandums of Understanding have been signed with Latin American countries that have not recognized Kosova as a state, and all this has been achieved within the framework of medical diplomacy, which is the focus of Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi.
On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi emphasized that we can advance and the world can recognize us as a nation, a state, as surgeons and scientists only through solid international relations.
“In order for the world to learn more about us, to learn what we do, and what we can do, we must appear in the “WORLD SCIENTIFIC ARENA”. We should not be afraid of scientific and surgical competition, nor medical competition in general, and to be able to compete, we should be very prepared, knowledgeable, open, and work 26 hours a day,” said Dr. Latifi.
Regarding the activation of medical diplomacy, Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi emphasized that “Medical diplomacy is the backbone of global health diplomacy, which is defined as a wide spectrum of health determinants, as a decisive element in foreign, security and trade policy, for which collective action is required from each of us”.
So far, the following Memorandums of Understanding have been signed with the Kosova College of Surgeons:
- Association of Surgery of Paraguay
- University of Buenos Aires – Faculty of Medicine, Argentina
- Association of Surgery of Argentina
- Association of Surgery of Bolivia
Meanwhile, such agreements are expected to be signed soon with the Associations of Uruguay and Brazil.
This achievement of cooperation with the countries of Latin America has come as a result of the last visit of Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi to these countries and his meeting with representatives of Societies and Associations of Surgery.
The organizations and associations in question, on the basis of the Memorandums of Understanding, recognize the importance of cooperation with the Kosova College of Surgeons in the advancement of medical knowledge, the promotion of research, and the improvement of health care services, while they will focus to cooperate in the advancement of the fields surgical.
