History of the Lifetime Achievement Award “Prof. Dr. Sami Haxhibeqiri ”

The award is named after one of the most prominent personalities of Albanian medicine. In general, the successes of medicine in Mitrovica and Kosova, and in particular in the field of surgery, are related to his name. He was one of the founders and the first Albanian teachers at the Medical High School in Mitrovica since the establishment of classes with teaching in the Albanian language. The middle and senior staff is a product of his commitment and professional work.

This award is given to honor the extraordinary contribution of certain individuals in advancing science, practice, and surgery in Kosova.

The award is not given post-mortem and is given to the oldest person by all nominees.

Winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award “Prof. Dr. Sami Haxhibeqiri”

The Kosova College of Surgeons, for the first time, has awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award “Prof. Dr. Sami Haxhibeqiri”, at the Opening Ceremony of the First Clinical Congress.

The following were honored with this award:

Prof. Dr. Sadri Bajraktari, a general and vascular surgeon, professor of general and war surgery,

Prof. Dr. Sadri Bajraktari

and Prof. Dr. Besim Elezi, professor, doctor of medical sciences, and an outstanding surgeon. The award on behalf of Prof. Dr. Besim Elezit was accepted by Prof. Dr. Arben Beqiri.
