Bedri Ramadani, MD

Dr. Bedri Ramadani was born on June 5, 1970, in Vaksince, Kumanovo, North Macedonia. He completed his primary education in Vaksince from 1977 to 1985 and his high school education in Kumanovo from 1985 to 1989.

Dr. Ramadani graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, Croatia, in January 1995 and subsequently moved to Germany. He took a six-month intensive German language course in MĂŒlheim an der Ruhr, followed by a German language exam. In May 1996, he registered at the University of DĂŒsseldorf for a practical year and passed the state exam at Heinrich-Heine University in May 1997.

Dr. Ramadani began his professional career as an intern at St. Johannes-Hospital Duisburg in the Clinic for Surgery and Traumatology from June 1997 to December 1998.

In February 1999, he joined the Cardiac Surgery Clinic at the Heart Hospital Center in Duisburg, initially as an assistant and resident. He specialized in cardiac surgery in September 2003.

In January 2005, he was appointed Oberarzt (Senior Physician); in 2010, he became the Leitender Oberarzt (Chief Senior Physician). From October 2017 to March 2018, he served as the temporary chief of the Cardiac Surgery Clinic at Herzzentrum Duisburg.

In April 2018, Dr. Ramadani moved to the Clinic for Cardiac Surgery at the University Clinic of DĂŒsseldorf, where he became responsible for combined and complicated operations. Since 2019, he has been in charge of the heart transplant program, performing 60 heart transplants to date. In January 2023, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Clinic for Cardiac Surgery at the University Clinic in DĂŒsseldorf.

Dr. Ramadani has performed over 6600 heart operations, covering the complete spectrum of adult cardiac surgery except for congenital diseases. He has been a member of the Commission for Specialization in Cardiac Surgery at the Chamber of Doctors in DĂŒsseldorf since 2012. Dr. Ramadani is fluent in German and has extensive experience in cardiac surgery, including complex and combined operations. He has demonstrated strong leadership in cardiac surgery programs and heart transplant operations and is committed to medical education and specialization in cardiac surgery.
