Dr. Jose Manuel Ramia

Jose Manuel Ramia is the Head of the Department (Department of Surgery, Hospital General Universitario de Alicante Dr. Balmis and Department of Surgery, Hospital General Universitario de Elda). He studied Medicine (1984-1990) (Faculty of Medicine. University of Valencia, Valencia (Spain)) and performed his residency in Department of Surgery, Hospital 12 de Octubre, Madrid (Spain) (1991-1995). He is PhD (Faculty of Medicine. Universidad Complutense de Madrid, (Madrid, Spain) (1999). He also is University expert in Qualitative and Quantitative Methodology. Faculty of Medicine, University of Granada, and European University Diploma in “HPB Cancers: Onco-surgical strategies”. Faculty of Medicine. Paris XI University. He has National Accreditation for Professor of Surgery and now is an Associate Professor in Faculty of Medicine. Universidad Miguel Hernández from 2021.
He is a Fellow of the European Board HPB Surgery (FEBS-HPB) (2009), American College of Surgeons (2013), Royal College of Surgeons of England (2015), and Fellow Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (2023).
He was President of the Spanish College of Surgeons meeting in 2023.  He is Chair of the Scientific Committee EAHPBA (2021-2025), Member EAHPBA Executive Council (2021-2025), Member Program Committee EAHPBA 2021, 2023 y 2025; President of Spanish Chapter American College of Surgeons (2021-), Member Research Committee IHPBA (2022-2026) and Member SEOQ Council.
He has written as a primary author or coauthor of 34 book chapters and 417 manuscripts in scientific journals. He is member of 16 editorial committees and a reviewer in 118 journals. He has presented 1023 oral/video/poster presentations at Medical Congresses, winning 29 prizes. He has chaired 46 symposiums and presented 102 lectures. He has been awarded with 14 competitive grants.
