Mission:

The mission of this Committee is to increase the quality of care of the surgical patient and his safety in all surgical disciplines by establishing Advanced Quality and Patient Safety Programs. This will be done through the application of the four guiding principles that are necessary to measure the improvement of care and safety:

1. The principle of standards: Standards will be individualized for the patient and supported by research;
2. The principle of proper infrastructure: Proper level of staff, specialists, equipment, checklists;
3. The principle of rigorous data: Excerpts from medical records, supported by research, including post-operative data, constantly updated;
4. The principle of verification: Creates public safety and has external peer-review.
