The KCS held successfully its Workshop Week “Endoscopic – Laparoscopic Interventions and Application of Ultrasound in General Surgery – Urology – Pediatric Surgery – Gynecology”

The Workshop Week “Endoscopic-Laparoscopic Interventions and Ultrasound Application in General Surgery – Urology – Pediatric Surgery – Gynecology” organized by the Kosova College of Surgeons was held on 23-26 May 2022, and lasted 4 days in total (one day per each of these surgical areas).

The Workshop Week program was intended as follows: two lectures by two eminent lecturers in each workshop, followed by the company expert lecture on the instrumentarium (the instrumentarium is provided by Storz), the lecture by the lecturer on ultrasound, and the training part in which each participant would practice in phantom and ultrasound (according to the time allotted to each). The total number of participants was 172.

The first day (23 May 2022) of the Workshop Week of the Kosova College of Surgeons, dedicated to laparoscopic interventions and ultrasound in General Surgery, was followed by four excellent lectures by local and foreign experts and the training part in phantoms and ultrasound. The first day’s lectures included “Abdominal Robotic Surgery” (Prof. Dr. Rifat Latifi), “Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration for the treatment of the Common Bile Duct Stones: New Options and Strategies for Treatment” (Prof. Dr. Arben Beqiri), “Instrumentarium in Abdominal Laparoscopy” (Blaž Bradač), as well as “Ultrasonography of the Pancreas” (Dr. Sci. Gëzim Lipoveci).

The second day was dedicated to “Endoscopic Interventions in Urology and Ultrasound” and was held on May 24, 2022. The lecturers were Prof. Ass. Petrit Nuraj on the topic “Urological Endoscopy”, Dr. Ajet Xhafaj, on the topic “The latest Minimal Interventions in Urology – Our experience in Laparoscopic Interventions in Urology”, Blaž Bradač with “Instrumentarium in Urological Endoscopy”, and Dr. Destan Kryeziu with “Ultrasonography of the Kidneys”.

“Laparoscopic Interventions in Pediatric Surgery and Ultrasound” were the focus of the third day (May 25), in which Dr. Xhevdet Ademaj lectured on “Mini-laparoscopy in Neonatal Surgery” and “General Laparoscopic Aspects”, Blaž Bradač on “Instrumentarium on Pediatric Surgery Laparoscopy”, and Prof. Dr. Nexhmi Hyseni for “Ultrasonography in Pediatric Emergency”.

The closing day of the Workshop Week of the Kosova College of Surgeons (May 26, 2022) was dedicated to “Laparoscopic Interventions in Gynecology and Ultrasound”. Prof. Dr. Alban Neziri on the topic “Laparoscopy in Gynecological Oncology”, Prof. Ass. Merita Krasiniqi on the topic “The role of laparoscopy in operative gynecology”, Blaž Bradač with “Instrumentarium on gynecological laparoscopy”, and Prof. Dr. Selami Sylejmani on the topic “Ultrasonography in Gynecology” were the lecturers of the fourth day of the Workshop Week.

The Kosova College of Surgeons of aims to turn the Workshop Week into a yearly event, dedicating workshop days each year to four different surgical fields.
