Ass. Prof. Dr. Salih Sh. Krasniqi, Dr. Sc.

Ass. Prof. Dr. Salih Sh. Krasniqi, Dr. Sc.,Surgeon-laparoscopist, was born on 02.06.1956 in Tuxhec of Kamenica (Dardana), Kosova. He finished primary school, high school, and the Faculty of Medicine in Prishtina. He completed his specialization in surgery in Zagreb, in 1991. He completed his postgraduate studies in Zagreb, 1988-1989, while in Prishtina at the Faculty of Medicine, in 2002 he defended his master’s thesis entitled “Correlation between clinical data, radiological, endoscopic, histopathological and surgical treatment of gastric cancer ”. He defended his doctorate at the University of Medicine in Tirana, in 2013, at the Faculty of Medical Technical Sciences, entitled “Our experience in the treatment of biliary calculi with laparoscopy and the role of laparoscopy in the treatment of advanced cases”, with mentor Prof. Asc. Dr. Arben I. Beqiri. He is the signatory and distributor of the Appeal of 215 Kosova intellectuals. He was a participant and coordinator of 7 (seven) Military Hospitals in the three wars in the Albanian lands: Kosova, Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja, and in Macedonia-Lipkovo (1998-2001). He was an authorized assistant in the subject of surgery (1996-2011) at the Surgery Clinic at the Faculty of Medicine in Prishtina. He was a teacher of surgery at the State University of Tetova at the FMNS from 2008 to 2010. Since January 2014 he is a lecturer in Surgery at the University of Medicine in Tirana, Faculty of Medical Technical Sciences, Kukës branch. He was a municipal councilor of the Municipal Assembly of Prishtina (2009-2013). He was the Medical Director at UCCK from 2010-to 2011. Since 2016 he has been a teacher at the Faculty of Nursing at UBT and in September 2017 he has been elected Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at UBT. He is the author and co-author of nine books. Dr. Salih Sh. Krasniqi has published over 30 scientific and professional works in the country and abroad.
