Dr. Adnan Shabani was born on June 15, 1944 in Skopje. He completed the eight-year primary school “Liria” in Skopje and the secondary school at the “Cvetan Dimov” gymnasium, also in Skopje. He was enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine in 1962. Due to his excellent success in high school, he was exempted from the entrance exam at the Faculty of Medicine. He graduated from the faculty in 1967. At that time he was one of the youngest doctors in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. From November 1, 1971, to June 6, 1972, he completed his postgraduate studies at the “Andreja Stanpar” School, Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb. He completed his specialty exam in General Surgery in Skopje. On August 5, 1976, he completed the plastic and reconstructive surgery specialization exam at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.
On May 1, 1978, he founded the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Pristina, and from that time until June 15, 2003, he was the Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Pristina. In 1978, he was chosen as an Assistant in the subject of General Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine in Prishtina. From 2003 to 2009, Dr. Adnan Shabani was the Head of Outpatient Service at the Surgery Clinic in Pristina. He retired in 2009. From 2003-2009 he was employed at the “Bahceci” hospital of Turkey in Pristina.
In 2019, he was employed at the American Clinic in Pristina, as a specialist in Plastic Surgery.
He is the author and co-author of over 20 scientific papers. During his lifetime, he received many recognitions such as Recognition as Honorary Chairman at the “Symposium of Kosovar Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, with international participation in Pristina”, Recognition for “Mentor of Scientific Works at several Congresses of Medical students in former Yugoslavia”, Acknowledgment from the Clinic of Surgery for “Contribution given in maintaining and cultivating interpersonal and collegial relations, maintaining the dignity of the doctor, maintaining the authority of the institution, giving valuable advice, which will also serve for the future”, and Acknowledgment for the work and contribution made in the establishment of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic.
