Dr. Agon Rrusta was born in Pristina. He completed his primary and secondary education in the city of Denver, Colorado, in the United States. Following this, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine with a degree in General Medicine in 2011. He successfully completed his clinical internship at the University Clinical Center.
Dr. Rrusta commenced his career as a general practitioner at the Family Medicine Center in Drenas and worked diligently there until 2014. In 2014, he embarked on his specialization in the field of Ophthalmology at the same university clinical center, where he achieved excellent results.
Furthermore, from 2018 onward, Dr. Rrusta has been continuing his doctoral studies at the University of Pristina, with a focus on Clinical Medicine. Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to enhance his expertise through participation in Salzburg seminars in 2017.
One of his notable achievements is the acquisition of a grant from the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO) in the field of Medical Retina for the year 2021, as well as a grant from the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) for the year 2023. Dr. Rrusta is also a member of prestigious professional associations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Society of Retina Specialists, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
He has presented his work at medical seminars in Salzburg in 2017 and at the congresses of the South-East European Ophthalmological Society (SEEOS) in 2019.
Additionally, in 2023, Dr. Rrusta had the opportunity to undergo subspecialty training in Cataract, Cornea, and Medical Retina Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, demonstrating his continuous commitment to advancing his expertise in the field of Ophthalmology.
