Isa Saliu was born in 1942 in Tetovo. He finished high school at the âKiril Pejçinoviqââ in Tetovo, while he completed the Faculty of Medicine in 1967 in Skopje at the University of “St. Cyril and Methodius”.
As a young doctor, he returned to serve the population of his hometown, where there was a severe shortage of doctors. Isa Saliu was an ambitious doctor and passionate about his profession. After a while, it was no longer enough for him to be at the service of the people only as a general practitioner, so he decided to continue his education in Surgery. In the same university where he completed his postgraduate studies, in 1978 he specialized in General Surgery, but the journey of Isa Saliu’s education and professional development did not end there. In 1996, he completed the subspecialization in abdominal surgery at “Saint Cyril and Methodius” University. In 1982, he was elected as a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
He has been a member of several medical associations in the country and abroad. Isa Saliu has also contributed to the education of younger generations by teaching the subject of Surgery at the “Nikolla Shtejn” High School of Medicine in Tetovo. He was also a mentor to general surgery residents. He has performed thousands of operations during his 30 years of work as a Surgeon at the Clinical Hospital of Tetovo.
