Ekrem Maloku, MD, MMS

Dr. Ekrem Maloku graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Prishtina. After the postgraduate clinical training, he is accepted as an academic staff at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Prishtina. In the meantime, he is pursuing a two-year postgraduate program and a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Neuropsychopharmacology. Also, in the meantime, due to the opportunities and enthusiasm for additional work, he accepts the offer from the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA to join scientific research in Neuroscience. Dr. Maloku managed to publish a series of publications in this field in high-impact scientific journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Nature- Neuropsychopharmacology and presented at many American and European national conferences.

After earning the equivalent of a U.S. medical degree, he is accepted to specialize in the Clinical and Anatomical Pathology program at the renowned Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, continuing his 2-year subspecialty program in Clinical Neuropathology at Langone University Medical Center in New York, NY. under the mentorship of eminent figures in the field including experience at the world reference center for Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Maloku is a member of the American-Canadian Association of Pathology (USCAP), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the American Neuroscience and Neuropathology Association. His narrow interest is close work with patients, health education and continued engagement in clinical research, especially in relation to the advancement of Molecular Neuropathological diagnostics in brain tumors and Alzheimer’s disease.
