Gazmend Berisha, MD

Gazmend Berisha, MD, was born in 1983 to parents of Kosovar origin. He has lived in Norway for 35 years. He graduated from Comenius University Faculty of Medicine, Bratislava, Slovakia in 2010. As Secondary Education for the Anesthesia Speciality, he has worked as a resident in Pediatrics from 2014-2015. In 2018, he completed his residency in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet. Between 2017-2019 he worked as Assistant Professor at the University of Oslo Campus Akershus University Hospital teaching and lecturing about Acute Pediatrics, Acute Neonatology, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for neonates and children.

He is currently working at the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at Stavanger University Hospital as Consultant Anesthesiologist and completing his PhD-/Doctoral fellowship in Neonatal Resuscitation at the University of Oslo and Akershus University Hospital. He also works for Edar-Medical International, Kosova, as Prehospital Anesthesiologist/Air Ambulance Doctor. He has published several articles about neonatal resuscitation, is member of the Difficult Airway Society UK (DAS), European Society for Paediatric Research – Neonatal Resuscitation Section (ESCNR), European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), and European Society of Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC) among others, and is peer reviewer for Scandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine, and Anesthesia & Analgesia Practice (A&A Practice).
