Jörg Tessarek MD,

Jörg Tessarek, MD, during his surgical education from 1990 until the board certification as a general surgeon in 996, was strongly occupied with vascular patients. From 1996 until 2009 Tessarek worked in the Franziskus Hospital and the University Hospital in Münster as a consultant and later as vice chairman. After his board certification for vascular surgery in 1999, he focused on CAS,  CLI, and complex surgical and endovascular aortic procedures.

As a founder member in 2007 and later chairman of the endovascular section of the DGG, he could support various studies and publications covering vascular and endovascular topics.  Still networking in national and international scientific societies (ISVES, ESVS, DGG, DGA, FoundER Group, BDC) and running endovascular courses for the DGG and ESVES, his efforts aimed to implement a dedicated endovascular education program into the national vascular surgery curriculum, which has become real in 2017.

Since 2010 he is the head of the department for vascular and endovascular surgery and a member of the Carotid Quality Surveillance Group for the Federal State of Lower Saxonia.
