Lars-Peter Kamolz, MD, was born on the 11th of March 1972 in Berlin, Germany. He has studied Medicine at the University of Vienna, Medical School, Vienna, Austria (M.D.). Moreover, he has studied Quality and Process-Management at the Department for Knowledge and Communication Management at Danube University in Krems, Austria (M.Sc.).
He is a Board-Certified Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgeon (ĂGPĂRC). In 2012, he became a Professor of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Division of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery, Medical University of Graz and Head of the Division of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery, Medical University of Graz, Austria. Furthermore, he is the Head of the Research Unit for Safety and Sustainability in Healthcare and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the LKH-University Hospital in Graz. Since 2018 he is also Director of COREMED â Cooperative center for regenerative Medicine at Joanneum Research Forschungsgesellschaft mbH.
He is a Certified Quality Manager, EOQ Quality Systems Manager, Certified Risk Manager, EFQM Assessor, and Auditor for Quality Management Systems.
His research focus is Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, Burn Care, Regenerative Medicine, and Tissue Engineering, Ageing, Quality and Risk Management, Health Literacy, and Sustainability. He is an Editor and Member of the Review Board of several international Journals, author of more than 250 peer-reviewed articles, and editor of several books and book chapters. He was awarded several times by different scientific organizations for his scientific work.
