Ozgur Firat MD, has earned his M.D. at Ege University Izmir Turkey in 1998. After completion of his residency, he was accepted for an academic program and obtained a full professorship in 2017. During his career, he specialized in Upper GI Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Surgery both including laparoscopic and robotic techniques. He has given numerous lectures at national meetings and also was invited for surgeries outside the country. He previously had observational studies at The Ohio State University, Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, Columbus, Ohio, the USA, and AMC Hospital, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
He started a Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery Program at Ege University in 2012 and is currently a board member of the Turkish Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
