PRESS RELEASE – Executive Director of the American College of Surgeons delivers lecture for Kosovar surgeons
Kosova College of Surgeons in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons held on Friday, March 5 the next lecture within the International Grand Rounds, where the lecturer was the Executive Director of the American College of Surgeons, Dr David Hoyt, on “Challenges going forward”.
The main points of Dr Hoyt lecture were the permanent principles of leadership in surgery during the time of great global changes we are experiencing not only in the field of health, including the Covid-19 pandemic.
The presence of Dr Hoyt and the tremendously high level of his presentation were an expression of his personal commitment and that of the American College of Surgeons in strong support of Kosovar health sector and surgery in particular.
Thus, Dr Hoyt secured the support of the American College of Surgeons for the Kosova College of Surgeons and highly appreciated the leadership of Dr Rifat Latifi in the establishment of the Kosova College of Surgeons, adding that this step will change Kosovar surgery and medicine.
In conclusion, Dr Rifat Latifi, President of the Kosova College of Surgeons said: “In the lecture “Challenges going forward”, by describing the past and current activities of the American College of Surgeons, Dr Hoyt basically described and paved ahead the activities, aspirations and objectives of the Kosova College of Surgeons for the next 100 years.”
It should be noted that this was only the last of the 8 lectures offered during these 6 months by other prominent members of the American College of Surgeons, but also other world-renowned professors that the Kosova College of Surgeons has provided for surgeons of our country.
Kosova College of Surgeons was established as a scientific and advocacy organization to lead the advancement of surgical disciplines in Kosova. As a non-profit scientific and educational association, the College was established in 2018 to improve the quality of surgical patient care, setting the highest standards of surgical education and practice.
