Prof. Christine (Tina) Gaarder

Prof. Christine (Tina) Gaarder, is a consultant General and Trauma Surgeon, Director of Trauma at Oslo University Hospital (OUH), the only high-volume trauma center in Norway. She’s an expert in elective abdominal wall reconstructions. Her trauma training is partly from South Africa and she has deployed as a reservist with the Norwegian Army. Apart from being the Founder of the OUH dedicated Trauma Service in 2005, she’s the central person in the development and maintenance of the Norwegian national trauma system and is involved in the planning of future hospitals in the capital region, she’s running the national trauma and acute care surgery educational programs and is involved broadly in international trauma surgical training. Prof. Gaarder is the Immediate past president of IATSIC and Congress President for ECTES 2022 in April in Oslo.

She’s part of the broad trauma research program and one of the founders of INTRN, a northern European research consortium focusing on trauma resuscitation. Additionally, she’s an Editorial board member of JTACS, and co-editor for TSACO, with >85 PubMed indexed publications.
