Prof. Taylan Ö. Sezer graduated from the Medical Faculty of Ege University in 2001. He completed his residency program in General Surgery in 2008 at the Ege University – Department of General Surgery. He completed an observationship at the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute in Pittsburg, USA. He is the author of numerous scientific articles as well as author and co-author of several books. He has also won many awards in the field of General Surgery at the national and international levels. He has interests and experience in the field of minimally invasive surgery.
Taylan Ö. Sezer is a Professor of General Surgery at the School of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in Izmir, Turkey. He is head of the Renal Transplantation Unit at the Ege University Transplantation Centre in Izmir. He has performed over 1000 kidney transplantations at the Ege University Transplant Centre. He has interests in gastrointestinal cancers especially peritoneal carcinomatosis. He is experienced in Cytoreductive surgery and Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS + HIPEC) and Pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) in these patients. He applied CRS+ HIPEC to more than 500 patients with diagnosed peritoneal carcinomatosis.
